The Best Pre Marathon Meal

The Covenant Health Marathon in Knoxville, TN is one of the best races in the state. They do an amazing job of making the runners feel energized and motivated while running. I ran the half marathon this past weekend, and have never felt more accomplished. I set a goal for myself in the beginning of the year and it feels great to say that I completed the race.

I never would have been able to finish the race without having eaten the proper meal the night before. I knew it was very important to eat a carb heavy load in order to have enough energy the next morning. A few friends and I got together and made homemade lasanga, salad, and rolls. We made extra pasta on the side in order to ensure that we were eating enough carbs. I went to bed feeling full and ready to run the next morning. The morning of the race I had a friend egg, avocado, a banana, and a half of a bagel. I tis important to eat what you normally eat for breakfast but also making sure you are getting enough energy dense food.
