Trader Joe’s Product Review: Cashew Fiesta Dip

Upon reading the description for the Trader Joe’s Cashew Fiesta Dip, I thought…a cashew dip? This dip is made to taste like your classic cheese dip but without the added guilt of eating dairy. In my most recent trip to Trader Joe’s I knew I had to buy some to try. I first discovered this product on Instagram. I follow an account called Trader Joe’s List. They post daily pictures of new products, products you should be using, and what they are making with certain Trader Joe’s products. It has been a super helpful and easy way to experiment with new ingredients and try new things. You can follow them here!

The Cashew Fiesta dip is made from ground cashews, potatoes, carrots, onions, and an assortment of spices. It can be eaten hot or cold. I went for the heated route. I had my first bite on a corn chip. The taste was good, the texture was very different. It was nothing like regular cheese dip. The flavor was also different, but a good different. There was there right about of heat and creaminess. If you are looking for a dairy free substitute for cheese dip this is a good option. If you are picky about your cheese dip then you may just want to stick to the dairy route.
