Last week was Valentine’s Day. Instagram was filled with sweet stories featuring people boyfriends/girlfriends, flowers, chocolates, balloons, and anything you could think of that screamed love. I was intrigued by one story that featured an assortment of sweet treats. My friend and her girlfriends had celebrated the day with sweet treats made by Elisabeth & Butter.
Elisabeth is a southern girl who grew up with a love to bake, inspired by her mom and sisters. She strives to create fun and delicious recipes that will make at home baking easy. I found her recipe for Cake Batter Cookies through my friends Instagram story. She simply tagged Elisabeth’s Instagram account, which led me to discovering her blog. I immediately subscribed to start receiving emails from her and planned to make the Cake Batter cookies myself.
I had to make a baked good for a dinner party, so I thought these sweet colorful cookies would be perfect. The recipe was simple and easy to follow, and I felt pretty confident that my cookies would look just like hers. Let me tell you, Pinterest Fails are real. You think that you are doing everything right, but then when the final product is revealed you have really missed the mark. My cookies definitely did not end up looking anything like Elisabeth’s but they still tasted good. Here is a side by side comparison.
