I eat a fried egg for breakfast everyday. I find it to be an easy way to get protein fast in the morning. There is a real art to making fried eggs perfectly, and it took me forever to master. Here are a few tips I have for making the perfect fried egg.
- Use a non stick pan – preferably dark metal
- Do not use any kind of oil to make the egg not stick, instead use coconut oil spray or canola oil spray.
- Heat your pan up for at least 2 minutes before cracking the egg.
- Season with salt, pepper, and chili powder generously once the egg has been in the pan for about a minute.
- I prefer to flip my egg about halfway through in order to get that nice crispy side of the egg.
- Depending on how you like your consistency of your yolk, tap the center of the egg with a fork to see how runny the yolk may be.
- If you are wanting to get really fancy, top your egg off with a sliced avocado to add extra creaminess and flavor.
I like to eat my eggs with a banana, and an occasional clementine when they are in season. Here is a side by side comparison of my eggs and a fancy post on Instagram from a food blogger. I like to think as long as I am getting my nutrients in the morning then the way it looks doesn’t really matter. Enjoy!
